Chi Alpha at UCF
Chi Alpha (XA) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) launched in 1994. Over the last 30 years, Chi Alpha staff have faithfully served at UCF, seeing students saved, baptized, discipled, and released into the rest of their life. Our prayer is for every student who encounters Chi Alpha at UCF to meet Jesus, grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus, and live a life in humble submission to Him.
Missions
Since 1994, Chi Alpha at UCF has sent mission trip teams all over the world including to Spain, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Japan, India, China, and Ireland. We love building relationships with missionaries and returning to support their ministries. In this way, we have the opportunity to see God's Kingdom grow where we serve throughout the years.
Leadership
Charmaine Townsend has been a part of Chi Alpha since 1998 when she completed her Chi Alpha Campus Missionary-In-Training Internship. She became an Assemblies of God Nationally Appointed Missionary in 1999. From August 2000 - 2023, Charmaine Townsend served as the Chi Alpha Director at UCF. In her tenure, Charmaine poured into the lives of so many students by leading small groups, raising up student leaders to reach their peers, hosting weekly large group services on UCF's campus, and coordinating annual Chi Alpha retreats. She led three trips to Spain, five trips to the Dominican Republic, five trips to Guatemala, and trips to India and Japan. Charmaine has ministered to countless UCF students and continues to encourage them even after they have graduated. One of her favorite outreaches was the annual Valentines Day outreach that began under the previous directors. During this outreach, Chi Alpha would hand out carnations and candy to thousands of students at UCF. Charmaine continues to serve as an Assemblies of God U.S. Missionary with Chi Alpha as the Administrative Assistant to Mario Solari, the Chi Alpha Southeast Regional Director. Alumni
Because we have been at UCF for decades, we have an extensive alumni community. We want to stay in touch with our alumni to continue to encourage them as they are released in to the next chapter of their life. We love getting to connect our alumni with church families or missions opportunities wherever the Lord sends them.
